Crazy Scientist

Not much to report today. Everyone is quite busy at the office. The Australian Red Cross is coming at the end of the month to do a project review, so everyone is working to prepare. Also some Swiss people are coming to document some information about the dzud and some Americans are coming to look at the earthquake preparedness program.

This afternoon I met with R. Mijiddorj, a professor at the University of Science and Technology. He wrote a training manual for climate change education. He is about 100 years old with this awesome comb over. He seemed a bit unsure about me being there at first, but then once he found out I was from Columbia he got so excited! He did work with the Tree Ring Lab at Lamont in Mongolia. They published several papers together. He was very excited that I was a meteorologist. He even gave me a book he published about climate change and desertification that was translated to English. Mijiddorj agreed to work with the Red Cross to help with trainings and working with climate change information. So an overall successful meeting.
